The Rhythm Behind the Story

For 38 years, Iain Bayne shared his love of music as the drummer of Runrig - the legendary Scottish band - bringing power, precision, and passion to audiences around the world. This site celebrates that remarkable journey, along with the friendships, experiences, and connections that have shaped a lifelong commitment to music and the people who create it.

Now a new chapter is being written as Iain prepares to release a brand new album under the name "Iain Bayne's The Common Flame" an album whose songs are rooted in personal experiences and explore love and loss, resilience and joy, memory and hope.

However, the songs, the shows, and the drums are only part of the picture. Behind every performance and recording are the people, lessons, and moments that make a life in music so rewarding. Welcome to a place where music, memories, and community come together.
